Day 20: León - Villadangos del Páramo

At the albergue where we were staying in León (Monasterio las Benedictinas) breakfast was offered on donation at 7:30, so we had an early start. By 8:00 we were already walking. We took some to see some more monuments since it wasn't raining.

On the way we come to see some more "hobbit houses" and, the peak moment of my day, bullfinches! Sorry if I seem over enthusiastic, but it was the first time I've seen such birds and they are really fantastic!

We also came across some flooded paths were we had to look for alternative ways not to get our feet wet. And there is always a way!

When we reached Villadangos del Páramo we saw that the municipal albergue was open, so we decided to stay here (instead of San Martín del Camino, where we originally intended to stay) so that we wouldn't have to pay too much at some private albergue.

As we were looking to buy some food we found a wallet on the ground. It had some money and both ID and Driver's card of the owner, so we found out it belonged to a Spanish woman that lived near León. So we decided to take it with us to Astorga the next day to deliver it at a local police station. Good deed of the day!
